End of Year Ceremony

Please join us for Bhaktivedanta Academy's end of year ceremony on Friday, May 31st at 8:30 a.m. The ceremony will be held in the Audarya Bhavan classroom and will conclude at 10:00 a.m.

This is a uniform day, so we ask that all students come looking their best. We will have a student art display, performances, and certificate presentations for our kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 6th grade students.

The 2012-2013 school year will officially end at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Bhaktivedanta Academy Has Officially Become a Candidate IB World School

I am happy to report that we have been notified by International Baccalaureate that Bhaktivedanta Academy is now officially a candidate school for the Middle Years Programme. This is the first major step in our eventual authorization (accreditation) of the Krishna Sharanam 7th-10th grade program and is a notable event in our school's history.

We still have a long way to go and many things to accomplish but we are well on our way to becoming authorized as an IB World School!

Many thanks to Jaya Sri Radhe, our IB Coordinator, for tirelessly charging forward with the Krishna Sharanam program development and getting us to this point.

Audarya Bhavan May Newsletter

Dear Families,

May has arrived, and that means the end of the school year is near. Our class has grown so much this past year, but we are still looking forward to learning lots of things in the month of May.

In the days ahead, we’ll be celebrating the Appearance Day of Lord Nrsimhadeva* on May 5th with lots of stories and activities glorifying Him. As junior members of the Radharani** Club, we will be raising money for jewelry for Their Lordships’ new outfits. Last year, we raised over $300; this year our goal will be at least $250. You can help with this project by providing opportunities for your child to earn money by doing extra chores around the house.

We invite all mothers to our classroom on May 10th for a special Mother’s Day celebration. The children look forward to sharing their classroom with you and serving you tasty refreshments. We hope to see you then.

It’s strawberry season, and we have a tentative date to pick strawberries. Last year’s strawberry picking field trip was great fun. We’ll give you more information as soon as our plans are formalized. Oh, of course, we’ll make strawberry ice cream.

Here are some important dates to remember in May:

  • Poetry Fest - 22nd,
  • Radhesa’s Birthday Walk - 22nd,
  • Shyam’s Birthday - 23rd,
  • Takurani’s Birthday - 24th,
  • Memorial Day Holiday - 27th,
  • Camp Kulaqua - 29th,
  • End of Year Ceremony - 31st.

This school year has gone by way too quickly. I wish everyone a wonderful summer.

Cordially,
Satyaki dasi
