Holy Name Gathering Invitation

The time between Lord Nityananda's and Lord Chaitanya's* appearance days is our annual japa marathon.  Each 1st - 6th grade student has a daily japa meditation goal which they commit to during this period as an offering to Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.  To date our students have chanted close to 700 rounds of japa together.

As a nice way to finish off this special offering, we are hosting a Holy Name Gathering at the school, where students and parents can chant japa together.

We would like to extend an invitation to you and your child to join us for this special event on Tuesday, March 26th (Gaura Purnima Day) from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Audarya Bhavan classroom.  We will have a japa circle and set the space for a focused attention on the holy name of the Lord.

We look forward to seeing you!

Friday Reminders

Holi Celebration
Our first ever Holi celebration will be this Friday afternoon. Students should come to school dressed in their uniform along with a change of clothes (that you are okay with being permanently stained) and towel. This promises to be a very fun event. Thank you to the Bhaktivedanta Academy PTO for sponsoring it.

Cookout
We will also be having our annual cookout for students. You do not need to send a lunch, as it will be provided to all students. We are grateful to the families who have already signed-up to provide preparations but we still need a few more items. If you have not done so already, please click here to sign-up.

Vedic Arts Classes
Swati Mahalakshmi will begin her series of sanskrit and music classes this Friday afternoon. There is still time to sign-up, but forms and payment must be brought to the school office no later then tomorrow morning.

Holi Celebration

As is customarily done every spring in India, Bhaktivedanta Academy will be celebrating Holi (Festival of Colors) this Friday, March 22nd.  This fun event commemorates a special pastime of Lord Krishna in which He and the residents of Vrindavan playfully threw colors at each other and is celebrated annually by millions of people.

The Bhaktivedanta Academy PTO is sponsoring the Holi celebration, which will be held on Friday afternoon.  If you would like your child to participate, please send them to school on Friday with a set of clothes that you don't mind being stained.  They will have an opportunity to change after lunch.

Thank you!

Bike Week Starts Monday

Bhaktivedanta Academy's annual Bike Week starts this Monday, March 18th, for students in Audarya and Madhurya Bhavan.  To participate, students need to bring a bicycle in good working order and most importantly, a helmet.  Please examine and test ride your child's bike before bringing it to school.  In particular, check to make sure that:

  • tires are fully inflated and are not leaking air;
  • chain is not loose and remains on while riding;
  • brakes are working;
  • training wheels are removed;
  • seat is set to the appropriate height.

Please leave your child's bike and helmet when you drop them off on Monday morning. The bikes will stay at school until Friday afternoon pick-up.

We are sorry, but we are not able to train students to ride a bicycle as part of Bike Week.  Not all students are required to participate.  They will stay back and have free play with other students until the riders return.

If you have any questions, please call Satyaki at (386) 266-9254 or Shantipur at (352) 745-6232.
