Outreach Week Update - Day 2

We are on day 2 of our annual Outreach Week. Today a group of students from the Madhurya Bhavan class visited Alachua area businesses and gave out cakes and books (Higher Taste cookbook, Perfection of Yoga, and Bhagavad-Gita). The only disappointment of the day was that they had to come back to school in time for lunch!

Tomorrow another group of students from Madhurya Bhavan will head out to spread goodwill and spiritual knowledge throughout the Alachua/Gainesville area. 

Our Food and Necessities collection box is setup at the school entrance. A few items have started to come in. We are asking each family to contribute at least 1 item.  At the end of our collection these items will be delivered to a family in need via the New Raman Reti temple.

A note from the Bhaktivedanta Academy PTO: Teacher & Staff Appreciation gift card collections need to be turned in to Anapayini Jakupko (Srintath’s mom) by Wednesday afternoon. There are also forms and an envelope in the school office for Anapayini if you happen to miss her during pick-up and drop-off. All proceeds help to support Bhaktivedanta Academy, a spiritually-based Montessori pre-k, elementary, and middle school which offers an educational program that focuses on the development of the whole child.

Govardhana Puja Performance Reminder

Bhaktivedanta Academy's students will be performing at the New Raman Reti temple Govardhana Puja celebration this Sunday, November 3rd, at 5:30 p.m. Performances will be held at the Prasadam Pavilion stage at the temple. Students from every class will be performing a variety of dramas, songs and dances.

• Bhakti Bhavan and Audarya Bhavan students should be dropped off in their classrooms at 5:00 p.m. fully dressed and made up.

• Madhurya Bhavan and Krishna Sharanam students should meet in their classrooms at 4:30 p.m. dressed according to their role in the play. 

Students will be released to their parents at the rear of the stage immediately following their performances (approximately 6:00 p.m. for Bhakti and Audarya Bhavans and 6:30 p.m. for Madhurya Bhavan and Krishna Sharanam. Please be available to pick-up your child at that time. 

We are looking forward to some great performances. The students have been working very hard. Please ensure that your child is at their class on-time fully dressed in costume so they don't miss the opportunity to perform.

Cow Seva (Service) Opportunity

During the holy month of Kartika (October 18th - November 17th) Bhaktivedanta Academy students collect funds to support the cows on the New Raman Reti temple property. We have set a goal to raise $308 to:

• Repair pasture fence
• Provide a feast of sweet grains, alfalfa hay, and fresh vegetables for the cows
• Grow and harvest 1 hay roll
• Fertilize and maintain 1 acre of pasture

Please help your child earn money at home that they can donate toward this effort. They can bring their contributions throughout Kartika and place it in the money collection containers in each class.
